Silent waters - Zack

"No, it's nothing." Zack said. No honor lectures, he told himself. He didn't have any right to tell her how to go about living her own life. He could get away with that with his sister but not some woman he just met.

Nope, she didn´t buy it or at least her stomach told her that he did wanted to tell something. "Okay, spit it out."

"It's nothing. I promise." Zack assured her. He smiled his best smile. "C'mon, you should eat before your food gets cold. Pretzels are best when they're hot."

"........ Fine." She glared at him while eating. After a while however she smiled back at him again. She would get information out of him anyways in case she really was still interested in it later.

Zack hated lying but he knew his boundaries when he spoke to others. He thought before he acted. It was at least something good about him.

"Now speaking of hot things ..." She started looking him right in the eyes while smirking seducively. "Want a bite?"

"A bite of... what?" Zack asked with a raised brow. She could either mean her food or of her. He didn't mind either way.

Astrid chuckled a little and hold some of her pretzel towards him. "The brezel of course or did I just missed something you can have a bite of as well?" She replied innocently before it hit her mind again that she just had offered Zack herself before.

Zack chuckled to himself. He was certainly glad he checked. "I think I'll pass." he said. "Gotta eat what I have first, right?"

"More for me than." She replied playfully and turned her attention to the brezel shortly.

"Of course," Zack laughed. He smiled his best at her. He took a bite of his own chili dog. "Been a while since I got to go out with anyone other than my military buddies."

"Oh? A ladiesman like you? I mean you´re quite the eyecatcher and very sympatic ... well at least for me." She said looking a little suprised at him.

"There were a bunch of men who were on leave at the same time I was. Plus I don't go after a woman someone else pursues." Zack said. "If one of my buddies likes someone I'm... The wing man." He grinned at his own pun. "And if a lady isn't interested I let her be." His logic seemed simple enough to him. Only the proper way to act.

She chuckled at his wordplay. Really a good one. "That indeed is good to hear! Some flirting is never actually that bad in my opinion but forcing yourself on someone or going for someone despite another ones feelings cleary crosses the line."

"Sometimes... Some people just need someone to show a little affection. Boosts the confidence." Zack said. He made sure to show his sister affection.

"Mhm that´s true." She agreed, smiling gently at him. Everyone needs some attention and extra affection, especially the female gender and since it appeared to her that Zack knew his limits so far she only could think good of his flirty attitude.

Zack flashed her a million watt smile. Most girls didn't agree with his reasons for doing what he did but he found it just made things more comfortable in the end. "So... Big campus, bunch of guys... I can't be the only one to flirt with you."

As he gave her this wonderful she just had to smile sweetly back at him before shrugging. "Mmmmh well ... I havent met too many guys yet but I can truthfully tell you that much, you´re the first one treating me for a meal." She remarked smirking at him.

Zack chuckled to himself. "Their loss. You make great dinner conversation." He was slightly put out with he other men for not at least offering her dinner but then again it was early in their time together and there were other women on campus. "Guess I'm just lucky."

Zack being the first guy on the island she got to eat with actually hardly disturbed Astrid since everyone was still so very new to the island and there were quite many agents to be as well. "Dawh thank you. You´re quite the catch for conversation as well though." She replied giving him a wink.

"I try." He replied with a smile. "Glad I'm up to your standards. Even if I did almost give you a heart attack." He still enjoyed scaring people because of his appearance and she was hardly the first one to jump out of her skin because of him.

"Hey I survived it right? And if you wouldn´t have given me that `almost-heart-attack` before, who knows, maybe we wouldn´t have met or at least not that early probably. So even though I´m very sure I will find sand everywhere all over me, I´m pretty glad you did." She told him with a happy smile, truly meaning her words.

"There are ways to get rid of sand on unwanted places." Zack said with a sly smile. If she was going to complain about it, he was going to use it against her in his teasing fodder.

Curious of what he would say next she raised a brow. "Sounds like have some advice and suggestions to offer. Go ahead, I´m listening."

"I was thinking of a shower." Zack said. "They have them along the beach side." He gestured over his shoulder. He smiled. "Well that or baby powder. Apparently it's good for the skin."
