Hallway - It's Not Drugs! {Tag Zack}

Kadaj stalked in from outside the building. It had started to drizzle on the way back to the dorms and while she was mostly dry, the way her hair clung to her face was getting on her nerves. Her lips curled downwards in a scowl as she made her way toward her room.

Zack was heading towards Xion's rooms. He was hoping to get her to talk to him after he had apologized to that guy who kissed her - Tadasa or something like that. He paused when he saw that it was raining pretty hard outside. Which meant no flights for him later. That was always a bummer. He enjoyed flying.

Kadaj didn't notice the other person into the hall until she was close enough she had to skid to a halt. Apparently her bangs were harder to see through when they were wet, or perhaps she was just more distracted when they were. She looked up at the person in front of her, raising an eyebrow as she took in the wings folded against his back.

"Whoa! Sorry there, kiddo! Didn't mean to scare you!" Zack said quickly when he saw how fast she had stopped. He offered her a bright and friendly smile. She looked to be about his sister's age. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," She assured, taking a step back from him habitually. When she got startled like that she tended to do so as a precaution in case her power flared up. She gave him a hesitant attempt at a smile, though she suspected it was tinged with wariness, or maybe a bit of annoyance.

"As long as you're sure," Zack said. He ruffled her hair and turned to start walking away. However, as he moved to go around her, that was when he noticed something had fallen out of her pocket. He reached down to pick it up. "Oh here, you dropped..." Needles. Zack frowned.

She frowned slightly as he ruffled her hair, not entirely pleased with the invasion of her personal space. Kadaj's eyes widened when he picked up some HRT supplies she'd had with her and she made to grab it back from him. "Those are personal," she replied stiffly, eyes getting brighter green than usual.

Zack backed up when she tried to snatch it back from her. He had height on her so he held it up. "Listen, you don't have to do this," he said, taking a soft tone, that he often used when he was trying to convince his sister of something. She was so young.

Kadaj let out an aggravated groan, folding her arms and glaring at Zack. "You don't get it," She snapped, not coming out and saying what they were actually for. She hated telling people.

Zack placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I know you're mad but we can get you help. We can go to your mentor and we can get you help. Drugs aren't the way though." Zack insisted.

Kadaj gritted her teeth, letting out an irritated breath as she tried to calm down. "They're not drugs, not the kind you think anyway. They're medical," she stressed, hoping that would make him understand without her having to explain further.

"Medical?" Zack asked. He looked down at the needles in the palm of his hand. They did look like a higher grade needle than what kids used for street drugs. However, Zack was a bit slow on the uptake. "What for?"

"They're for HRT," Kadaj said impatiently, not actually explaining what the acronym was to Zack.  Hopefully he either knew or would be content enough with the reply to not ask further questions.  But then, since when would she be so lucky?

Zack frowned and passed over the needles to her. "Are... you sick?" he asked in worry since he was making a big deal out of her 'drug use' but medicine he could understand. He just felt like an ass for trying to keep them from her. "I'm sorry. I guess I jumped to conclusions."

She took them back, feeling considerably less tense now that they'd been returned. Putting them away in her pocket, she used the action to give her a moment to consider how to respond to that. "Not exactly, HRT stands for Hormone Replacement Therapy."

"Hormone Replacement? What would you need that for?" Zack asked in absolute confusion. He was feeling considerably more like a jerk the more the conversation went on, particularly since he had jumped to conclusions, thought the worst of her and tried to convince her to change her ways for the better.

Kadaj sighed, rubbing her forehead in irritation. She hated having to spell this out for people. She didn't like having to tell people, especially when they seemed as ignorant as this nosy spiky haired guy. Couldn't he just mind his own business? "For when your gender doesn't match your body okay?" She snapped at him, locking frustrated green eyes on him.

"Oh! Oh, I'm really really sorry now." Zack said quickly. He couldn't help but laugh at his own stupidity which left him sheepishly scratching the back of his neck. "Hey, can we start this over? I'm Zack. I'm sorry for accusing you for being on drugs. That was totally my bad."

She let out an irritated breath, trying to calm down a bit.  He may be annoying but she didn't want to give him radiation poisoning.  "Whatever," she said, more a dismissal of his apology than an acceptance of it.  "And yes, it was your bad Zack.  I'm Kadaj."

"Let me make it up to you," Zack requested. "Ever been flying before?" Next time it wasn't raining, Zack could take her out and take her flying with him. He hadn't offered that to anyone on the campus so far, but he really didn't want her to remain mad at him for his ignorance over her medicine.

Kadaj eyed him skeptically, replying, "In airplanes, yes. The way you're talking about, no." She wasn't particularly inclined to give him a second chance. She felt more comfortable in her annoyance, far more experienced with pushing people away than she was with letting them in.

"Tomorrow," he said, "If it's not raining, I can show you flying in real style. What do you say?" He offered his best pouty look along with his proposition. He really hoped she said yes. He would have liked taking someone other than his mom and sister out flying with him. Plus, training right?

She folded her arms, eyeing him skeptically. "Do you offer to take many people flying then?" She questioned. The offer was tempting, but that didn't mean she was just going to up and accept it from a near stranger, especially after the foot they got off on.

"You're the first, aside from my sister. But she's a frequent flyer." Zack replied. He tilted his head to the side to help the pout along. "I haven't asked anyone else on campus to join me."

Kadaj considered the offer for a moment, turquoise eyes scrutinizing the boy in front of her for a brief time. She supposed she could give him a chance... "Fine, but don't think this makes us friends. I'm still deciding what to think of you."
