Somewhere peaceful [Buddy]

Sitting comfortably on the grass with his back resting against the tree, Hiro turned yet another page on the heavy book currently paced on his lap, looking as content as he was concentrated on reading. For once, he wasn't spending his time inside the lab (which had become his favorite place on the whole island since he first stepped inside the room) or paying some of his videogames back in is room or arcade. Nah, for once he didn't feel like toying around with electronics of some sort, and was merely content with enjoying a good book while outside with the nice weather. And of course, with a bag full of sweets and treats of all sorts he had managed to get his hands on. He had almost forgotten how peaceful quiet and calm moment slike these could be, and how much he'd actually missed having those once in a while. As weird as it sounded, that's one fo the main reasons he ahd seeked refuge in Reno's old apartment these past years. And even more surprisingly, the redhead had let him. Ever sicne runnign away from home for real, the gigner had stopped telling him to leave.
Shakign thsoe thoughts off, Hiro focused back on the book, shiftting it a bit when his legs began to fall asleep.

Buddy was walking lazily through the gardens, lost in his thoughts: at a first look he would seem absolutely relaxed, just enjoying his walk, but a small frown gave away that something was bothering him. And, in fact, since he had met the redhead and his brunette companion, his mind kept going back to their meeting and what he had found out... What was he supposed to do with that? He was tempted to just erase all the memories from their mind and then erase everything again from his own mind... but... somehow that just didn't feel ok... he had been having that uneasy feeling so many times before... he just didn't know what to do with that... Opening his vault... no, that wasn't even an option. He felt that wasn't a good idea... than why didn't he just want to get rid of the brunette and the ginger-head? Urgh... he was hurting his brain now... As he passed by a tree, he noticed an almost familiar face: well... not like he knew the young boy sitting on the grass, he had just see him in some memories of the gingerhead. "Well, hello there"

Hiro had felt someone nearby approaching, but hadn't bothered paying any mind to whoever it was just kept on reading, munching on some of the many candy bars he had stored down in his bag. It wasn't until the person talked did the boy bothered to glance up from the book. "Hello," he greeted back with a blank look, no hint of recognition and familiarity crossing his expression as he returned his focus on the heavy book on his lap. "....can I help you with something?" he asked after a moment when the stranger still haven't kept on walking.

Buddy could have just kept walking, but instead an idea hit him... the idea that maybe this boy could be of some help... He knew the redhead, he was sure of that, and apparently he knew him quite well, the memories he had checked had been quite clear on that... so maybe he could use that on his advantage and find some more informations without even needing to meet again the redhead and his badtempered friend... "You can, actually..." he replied with a smug smile, coming closer to the boy "You know the annoying redhead, don't you? Tall, with goggles, he escorts himself with an equally annoying brunette..."

While Hiro to remind himself to at leats try and act friendly towards people here, all those atempts quickly flew out the window the moment the male mention the two jerkfaces. The boy only gave a grimcae at first before focusing back on his book. "Whatever prank they've pulled on you, it's none of my problem. I have to deal more than enough aleardy so keep me out of it," he sighed, turning yet another page.

...ok, so the boy didn't like them as well... at least, that was what it looked like... that was good news. Bad news: the brat wasn't open to cooperation. Urgh... He tried to play nice, it wasn't his fault if people just didn't collaborate... "Hey, I don't need much. Just a moment of your time..." he replied, while sneaking into the boy's memories, looking for the redhead and the brunette. He quickly started giving a look around: he was checking memories too quickly for Hiro to remember all those moments at once, but he could probably feel the intrusion, along with some of those memories re-emerging and with them the feeling connected to them... For now, Buddy was moving in the clear zone, not even thinking the boy could have locked something into his memory-safe...

"That's what they all say," Hiro mumbled in disinterest, keeping his brown eyes locked on the page infront of him. So much for enjoying a peaceful day out on his own, now he ahd this weird guy wanting to talk about his two personal 'bullies'. No, Hiro didn't hate either of them, but god damn it where they the perfect recipe for headaches, for not to talk about annoying. He needed his time off when it came to thosetwo.
And then suddenly, a small wave of dizzyness hti him, making the boy blink af ew times to regain his focus. Where'd that suddenly come from..? he thought a bit suspcious. glancing back up at the redhead. Frowing, he felt bit confused as well when memories from hsi first meetign Reno, and then shrotly after with Nolan too suddenly popped up into mind. It was if someone was diggign around his head.
"Are you... snooping around my memories?" he suddenly asked, giving Buddy a flat look. Why ask something like that all of a sudden? Well, they are in in ilsand full of people with a varity of powers and abilites, and Hiro felt eprfectly fine before this dude suddenly turns up for some chitchat. With his overactive mind constantly in overdrive, Hiro was often fast in in piecing one and two together.
And then another weird feeling hit him as somethign else seemed to be re-found within his mind, causing his expression to fall into a frown, but this one with deeper confustion. This guy now seemed familiar all of a sudden.... But he still couldn't recall ever meeting him before.

"What can I say? I like to blend in" he replied sarcastically and absentmindedly to the boy's question, still checking the memories: well, nothing interesting so far... beside the fact that the boy walked in on the two that apparently shared quite an intense relationship. Yikes. He didn't need to see that, and neither did a... what? 12 years old? So no... no relevant informations... he sighed, and then the boy flat out asked him if he was snooping around his memories. He couldn't keep an amused chuckle "Well, aren't you a smart one..." well, from his memories, he really was a smart one... boy genious... he could check only his memories, not his QI, but man, for suck a young kid he surely had many vivid memories... But he wouldn't stick around to check the boy's business if he didn't need to, even he had his limits. But... maybe... just as a precaution... maybe he could check this boy's memory vault... just as a precaution...

Hiro snorted at the redhead's sarcastic reply, tempted to comment on how easy it must be with that hairdo of his, but managed to hold it back. And then he felt another wave of dizziness hit him, but this time a bit stronger than the last one. He groaned abit in discomfort and rubbed his temple gently. "Well could you stop?" he murmured. "I like having my own privacy, a luxury when it comes to knowing those two jerkfaces you asked about," he muttered, giving Buddy a light glare when he still felt the man snooping around his memoires. Maybe he could force the guy out somehow? Or leave... Yeah, Hiro could get up and leave, but this was his favourite spot! And he was here first.
The heavy book that had been on the boy's lap, suddenly hit Buddy in the face, followed by an annoyed demand for the other to: "Quit it!"
Now that feeling of familiarity was really starting to nag him.

Buddy just nodded with an absentminded "huh... just a minute..." still looking around between the boy's memories, not really caring about how the boy could be feeling. Well, it was just a bit of dizziness anyway, come on, not such a big deal... He was now going to open the boy's vault and take a look when suddenly a quite heavy book was sent right on his face. And that fucking hurt! "...ouch..." was his only quite pissed off comment. "Look, I just need some information. The sooner you let me handle this, the sooner I'm out of here." he clearified rolling his eyes: he didn't need the boy's permission, but who knew what else the little brat could throw at him?

Hiro glared coldly up at the older male, his expression now clearly telling the other to 'fuck off'. So yeah, clearly he couldn't care less about Hiro's permission on the subject of snooping around in his mind, but if he thought the boy was just going to sit there and let his mind be mailed on more 'information', then the weirdo thought wrong.
"My brain, MY rules," Hiro stated darkly, throwing another book he had in his backpack at the older's face before jumping up to his feet. Giving Buddy the finger, along with a very nasty look, he turned on his heels and began to leave.

This time, as the boy threw him a second book, he managed to protect his face with an arm and let the book fall on the ground. At his comments and horribly rude behaviour Buddy rolled again his eyes, stretching a hand as the younger gave him his back ready to leave and catching his hood, so that he just couldn't move further. "My power, my rules." he replied laconic, getting back inside the kiddo's head and finally opening the boy's memory safe. Now, he would have expected to find it empty or almost empty, how much could there be in such a young kid's mind? He wanted to check just to be sure, just not to leave any kind of doubt... instead... how much shit there was in there??? He didn't extract anything from there, but for as long as he kept the safe open, the memories were there and Hiro could actually remember them... and holy shit... this kid knew him! How could this happen? How could this be? Why would he erase from his mind a kid??? What the heck happened to him???

"Fuck your rules!" Hiro snapped back, almost gagging when Buddy stopped him from walking any further by grabbing hold of his hood. "If ya want to scan someone's brain so bad, you're more than welcome to do so on those two blockheads you're damn interested about," he hissed, trying to claw the other's hand off and egt out of the man's hold. He still felt the other roaming around inside his head, and more memories that he hadn't bothered thinking about popping out now and then. Hope he gets lost in there, Hiro thought grimly. Having photographic memory to boost his genius intellect, there was obviously alot of stuff to see and find in his hyper active brain.
And then he once again had another wave of familiarity hit him, starting to grow a bit concerned the more familiar this weirdo was beginning to feel.
Turning around as much as he could in Buddy's grasp, he grabbed hold of the grown up's wrist, and bit him. "The hell's your problem?!" Hiro demand, quick to step out of the other's reach.

He was too surprised to react quickly when the little one bit him and he was so stupid to actually let him go! He didn't even bother to reply to his answer, suddenly focusing on one memory specifically: the last memory that had been locked away in the kid's mind, apparently the last time the two of them had met...
"I wish I could just take you with me, Hiro..." he saw himself saying to a frustrated younger version of the boy, who kept complaining loudly "Use your big brain, kiddo! I should demolish and reconstruct from scraps your whole life!!! It's like building up a tumor in your head! It's a time bomb ready to explode in your head! It's that what you want? Wave goodbye to your big brain?" he couldn't get Hiro's answer, but that made him grimace like that pained him "it doesn't matter for me, I'm doomed anyway..."
What the hell was that? What was all that familiarity? Those discussions about rebuilding a life from scraps? What the hell was all of that? How was that connected to the two jerks?

Hiro's frown only deepened at the lack of response from the older, and reaction for that matter. What the hell did he find in there?" he thought suspiciousy, referring to his own mind of course. He shaked his head a bit, as if trying to get rid of the dizyness through that. "Uh... you still in there?" he asked carefully, waving his hand infront of Buddy's face in hope for some sort of that sign that was still there, and actully not stuck in the boy's head.
Bitng his lip, he took a few steps closer, placing a hand on Buddy's arm and pulled gently at his sleeve to get his attention. And then another wav of dizyness hit him, along with a headache. It was sudden enough for him to stumble a bit and having to regain his balance.
"Don't leave me alone!" He heard himself beg somewhre in his mind, but not knowing when or why he would've utterd those words to anyone. "Don't leave me behind... like everyone else...
He almsot whimperd, and had to sit down again, rubbing his head and trying get rid of it all currently swirlign around in his mind.

Buddy could see and hear the boy, he just... he didn't know what to say, what to do. He was paralysed, stuck where he was, stuck in the boy's memories... who was he? Who the fuck was he? Where di all those people come from all of a sudden? Was that really his life? As the boy tugged at his sleeve, Buddy let go of that memory and decided he needed more proof: he started going around through his memories, from their first meeting to their last. The boy had known him for years! For fuck sake he had cared about this boy! He couldn't deny it, he wouldn't have sticked around if he didn't! He just... what... what was he supposed to do?

Hiro was certain he had been furious just a moment ago, along with confused as hell. But now? Now he suddeny felt like... crying. Crying wa snot somethign the boy genious normally did, it was acutlly pretty rare for him to do so. He felt sad of course, during msot part of his years growing up, but eh evnetually learned to ignore it, and stop crying.
So then why... could feel tears welling up in his eyes now.
Removing his hand from his face, glance dup at Buddy with big, questioning eyes, that was soon filled with recognition and hurt. "...you left me behind," he said quietly at first, everything from a a part of his life forgotten and locked away hitting him all at once. "You didn't want me around either... You left me alone."
His expression turned dark, the tear running down his cheek not even being noticed by him at this point. "You were just like everyone else."

Buddy could feel a shiver through his spine as the boy's eyes started filling with tears: and suddenly, for a brief moment, he could almost feel Hiro's memories echoing his own, he could feel that sense of familiarity... he could feel the affection he once felt for this boy and the guiltiness... he knew he had done a good job wiping away those memories, but when memories were so strong, so powerful, when feelings were so intense... he knew they could be triggered in... that scared him.
Immediately he locked once again the memory vault, now the kid would have no idea why all of a sudden he was feeling like crying nor who he was...
That had felt... horrible...
"Well, thanks for sharing..." he said, faking an half sardonic smile before he turned around, moving to leave the place

Hiro blinked, staring blankly at the ground in front of him as he tried to remember what had just happened. Something just felt more off now, than when that weird guy ahd decided to ask him about... uh.. Reno and Nolan. That was it? Feeling the wetness on hos cheek, he quickly wiped the tear stains off, now more confused than embarrassed really, especially since he had no idea what the hell had just felt like crying.
"Hey!" He shouted out, quickly jumping to his feet and catching up Buddy, pulling him by the back off his shirt. "What the fuck was all that about?" he demanded, back to glaring in that same way before he had broken down for reasons unknown to him.

Buddy was already leaving when the boy apparently got back to himself and quickly reached him, pulling at his shirt. What the fuck was that all about... didn't he like to know that! "Just bad memories, kid." he replied in a flat voice, still too shaken up to make some humour as usual. "Go back to your books..." he continued in the same tone, wriggling out from his grasp

Hiro pouted at the poor excuse of an answer, fumbling his arms over his chest in dissaprovment when he wa sjust brushed off. "So? Everyone has them," he pointed out dryly, quick to catch up to Buddy again, and this time blocking his way. "If you wanted infomartion on those blockheads so bad then why not just go and emptey their heads?" Hiro sure wouldn't mind if Buddy did that.

"I might actually do that" Buddy replied darkly to Hiro's suggestion: he could just wipe everything away, ignore whatever that was, pretend he had seen nothing... just go back to his life... Delete their memories and then his own, that surely sounded like the best move... but then why he couldn't bring himself to simply do that? He wanted to know first... cause if he had to wipe everything away, he could at least check what it was all about...

The pout fell from the boy's face, his expression turning into a thoughtful open instead for a short moment. "So... if you did get the chance to jump inside their brains... you wouldn't exactly, hurt them right?" he asked carefully, giving Buddy a firm look with a bit of suspicion in them. "They might annoying jerks but... I wouldn't want them to end up like some brain dead vegetables," he murmured.

Now what would you know... the boy actually cared for the two jerks! Wasn't that sweet? "Why would you even care?" he couldn't help but ask, turning around just enough to see his expression, and finding himself analysing his face, like trying to remember, to get a clue on who this kid was... but nothing, whatever he had done with his memory, he surely had done a good job...

Hiro frowned again at this, but not seemingly in anger however. "After all that snooping around through my memories, you really need to ask?" he snorted, glancing away for a moment. "They may be annoying assholes, but... I still owe them a lot." Like his life to start with, as much a she may dislike to amdit it. And then there was the fact that they were the only ones who gave a fuck about pittyful little runaway, and gave him a place to stay.
...and there was that weird feelign again, like he was forgetting something, someone. But he still couldn't figure out jsut what or who it was.
