Cute Little Monkeys (Open to Anybody)

Cricket just had to make a stop by the zoo. She loved animals and was looking forward to seeing them. She knew some of the people here had the ability to speak with animals, and that seemed like the most amazing ability she could think of. While she didn't have that, she usually tried to speak to them anyway.

She saw some monkeys and she walked over to them, in awe. The sign read "Proboscis Monkey." They weren't the prettiest animals, nay, they looked like somebody pulled their nose down and left it there as a practical joke. That's what some people might say, but for Cricket she always thought even the weirdest or ugliest looking animals were adorable, if not, even more cute than other ones. Maybe it was just because she felt something in common with these outcast animals. She leaned her arm against the rail and watched them as they ate. "Mind sharing?" She joked playfully, realizing she was getting kind of hungry too.

Iridessa was wandering the campus which is pretty huge in her opinion—probably no that big compared to Chicago but big if it were put in comparison wit the Loop, which, made it pretty big. She didn’t get lost like so many people seemed to be doing, she has great navigational skills, so her presence in the zoo isn’t an accident. When she comes across the monkeys, she sees her roommates leaning against the railing, talking.

Iridessa puts her face in her hand. "This girl is talking to monkeys. I get a roommate, who talks to monkeys." She then refrains from calling Cricket's name and just walks up beside her. "Cricket, girl, what the hell are ya doin'? They don’t speak English ya know."

"Iridessa!" Cricket exclaimed loudly as her roommate showed up next to her all of a sudden. She brought her hands up in balls of excitement as she turned back quickly to the monkeys.
"Oh of course I know they can't speak English. I just can't help it, sometimes I wish I had the ability to talk to them instead!" She leaned back over on the railing in glee as she watched the monkeys turn their head to look at the two of them from the noise. "They're looking at us! A-Aww, aren't they beautiful?"
Probably the ugliest one of them all stared straight at Iridessa then to Cricket and scratched his butt simultaneously. Cricket's eyes glimmered.

Iridessa doesn't really like animals. On a realistic scale, Iridessa feels that animals are seriously scary. If she or anyone else were probably thrown into a cage with a lion or a bunch of monkeys, she'd lose! Maybe now having met people like Cricket with crazy cool and useful powers, they'd have a chance at living, but people like her? Definitely not.
Iridessa's eyes flickered to her roommate then back to the practically mindless creatures. "I mean if you're into that sort of thing. I don't really car monkeys, hon, but you seemto so they're cute as hell. I guess." She shrugged.

Cricket got off of the railing and turned to her roommate as she spoke. "So if you don't like the monkeys.. or it seems like animals in general, why are you in the zoo?" She asked, genuinely curious. "Did you bring a pet with you here? I heard that some of the people brought their pets and they got to keep them here... lucky." She murmured quietly. Her foster home didn't allow pets, so she couldn't even keep one.
