Nolan bit his lip harshly as he slammed the door to his apartment room open and walked into his room hastily before slamming it closed. He couldn’t believe it! It took him three years to get this apartment! And he had been stable for three more years! Why did they have to let him go! His life had just gotten stable finally. Now how was he going to get another well paying job to keep up with this month’s rent? “Damn this life!” Nolan shouted, hitting his fist against the door in frustration. Suddenly the lights in the ceiling fan above him had suddenly turned on, getting brighter and brighter before the bulbs busted by the major surge of electricity. The young male quickly cursed under his breath as he jumped out of the way of the falling glass shards.
“And this as well?” Nolan muttered under his breath in a lowly aggravated chuckle as he shook his head of a few of the shards that he didn’t escape in time from. He cringed a bit as one of the shards cut him a bit as he brushed a few off his shoulder. His eyes gazed down at his hand, taking slim interest in the slight bleeding cut. But showed more interest at the sight of the electricity sparking at the tips of his fingers. Why had he been born with these powers? Had one of his parents have this power? If so, Nolan wished he could meet them and electrocute them for leaving him and passing this power onto him as well. Or had he just been born to be a disaster waiting to happen?
Sure the powers helped him in everyday life, but Nolan had to be careful because his control over his powers was shaky. He didn’t want any more incidents in his life any more. But a tiny part inside of Nolan knew there had to be a way to better control his powers and to learn ways on helping others with it. “But there doesn’t seem to be, is there?” Nolan grumbled to himself as he walked over to the small kitchen and reached up to the top cabinet. Grabbed some disinfectant and a box of band aids before sitting down at the small kitchen table. As Nolan started onto the cut, his eyes wondered over the kitchen table, taking notice of a few scattered pieces of mail. Oh that was right. He had gotten the mail yesterday but hadn’t had the time to check what he had received before heading to work.
After he fixed the cut up, Nolan glanced over the mail for anything interesting, before his eyes stopped on a certain flyer. He quickly scanned the flyer with a shocked gaze, before a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. So there were others like him out there? And this Elite training center could help those with powers? This was what he needed! Nolan’s mood quickly lightened up quite a bit more as he continued to read the flyer with interest. Might be later than ever, but it was here now when Nolan was in distress. Now that was a miracle for him.
