Description of superpower:
Merida can shift into a wisp like form. She can't do much other than travel in this form and do different shapes, however.

Personality:
Merida is headstrong and mischievous, sometimes too much for other people. She can come off as flippant sometimes, but deep down, she cares about her father and what friends she might have. Her mother's attack on her has also scarred her. This leads to a dangerous temper, and tendency to beat down first and ask questions later when she feels someone might hurt her or a loved one.
She can be compassionate and genuinely wants to help people with her powers. She's patient as well, and knows that nothing comes without practice and raw talent on its own means nothing without hard work. She's loyal to a fault, and will not budge from supporting her friends.

Story:
Merida's power manifested when she was young. The first time she turned into her wisp form, she joyously showed her mother. The woman was frightened by it, however, and tried to choke Merida out of that fear before Merida's father found them and stopped it. Her mother was sent to an asylum to protect Merida and her secret.
Over a decade later, Merida had fallen into an underground fighting ring which used weapons, while her father worked almost night and day to support both of them. One day, her father followed her and discovered where she'd been slinking off to. Then the cops arrived and both of them were arrested. Despite being able to escape custody in her wisp form, she had to wait for her father to get out as she didn't want to leave him behind.
With her secret was out, Merida had to give up her fighting days. She figured that even with the monetary gains that came with them, getting seriously hurt and sent to a hospital would only hurt them more. She took up a mundane job at a gas station, which wasn't much but helped ease her dad's financial burden. It was easy enough, and gave her extra money to treat herself and her dad once in a while. Her time in the ring, and her powers, came in handy one day, though, when the station she worked at was held up. She resisted the would-be robber, and when he pulled out a gun to shoot her he hit only the blue wisps of her other form. While he was stunned, she jumped him and disarmed him.
Getting to do something good with her abilities sparked a need to find a way to keep doing it. When she heard about the Elite program, she reached out to them, hoping she had a future with them.


Extra:
Merida is very physically fit from her time in underground fights. She also has a lot of scars from them as well.
She's willing to risk her life if it means she can help someone for once.
She's a big eater and can be a bit territorial about her food. If she shares her snacks with anyone, it means she must really like them.
She's a flirt and no virgin herself, but that doesn't mean she's not a sucker for the romance flicks. She gets flustered when shown genuine romantic affection.
She gave up on taming her hair years ago. It's a lost cause.
She likes to pull pranks, but always in good nature. She can go a little too far sometimes, though.
She's afraid of rejection but keeps herself open to others.
She's also afraid of shrimp. No one's figured out why.
She's bisexual. She's had a couple of dates of different genders, and tends to stay on good terms with her ex's. Even got two together.
