I can do it myself..or not (TAG: Anyone)

Remi had been telling her trainer that violence was never the answer, but she ended up training for it anyway with the punching bag. It's needless to say that the punching won and now her ankle really hurts. She was escorted by an EVE and now she's listening to Baymax ask her questions about her level of pain. She tells him it's about an eight and half and tries to tell him that she can handle it herself but the robot persists that he must treat it. He scans her and tells her that it's a sprained ankle. Well, this much she knew. She sprained her ankle often with ballet, but never this severely. When Baymax told her he would return, she sighed heavily, attempting to heal her ankle...until she noticed she couldn't heal it. Her power wasn't working. Her light was dim and weak. So she couldn't heal if she was in hurt? That was jut unfair.

Tadashi arrived running, panting heavily but he didn't stop until he was in the infirmary, able to see Remi's conditions with his own eyes. He was in the lab when he had received a sudden text from Remi who informed him, before he would receive scary news by anyone else, that she had to go to the infirmary. He didn't even take time to read the whole message, he left the project and Hiro there, muttering an excuse and a couple of heartfelt 'sorries' before he rushed out. He just had to check on Remi, she was first priority. As he was finally by her side, still panting heavily, he gave a quick but careful look at her: ok... nothing deadly, as it seemed... "w.... what... what is... it...?"

Remi blinked in surprise as Tadashi arrived in the infirmary, panting like a murderer was chasing him. "T-Tadashi." She blinked a few more times. "I, um, my ankle. I guess I twisted it, the Baymax told me it was sprained but it really hurts." She complained. "And look, Tadashi I...I don't know what's going on but look," Remi raised her hand to heal her ankle, but all she got was more dim light. "I can't heal myself, and...I don't know why." She murmured the last part, actually really scared. "I don't know if I've overdone it with all of the training and now I can't heal for a period of time, but it's just not working!"

Tadashi finally stopped next to her, listening carefully to her words: ok, a sprained ankle... painful, but it would heal... but then, as she showed him how the light of her power was dimmer than ever and it wjust wouldn't work, he frowned, trying to hide his worry "M-maybe you're right: you just need some relax... or m-maybe you just..." he frowned trying to think of any other reason why her power wasn't working... now, that was a wild guess, and it came more from his fantasy knowledge than science but... it was worth suggesting... "have you ever t-tried healing before... w-when you're hurt?"

Remi was really starting to worry, what would she do without her power? Would they kick her out? Oh, she'd have to go live with her parents and she hasn't even spoken to them since they forbade her from coming to the island in the first place and Tadashi! What would he do without her? He would be okay, he was making lots of friends...she hoped. Remi looked up at Tadashi in surprise. Now that she thought about it... Remi shook her head, "No, I don't...think so..." Normally when she healed her any part of her it was always a little while after she'd hurt it. A sprained ankle was typically a day or two and a broken bone she always waited two weeks to avoid suspicion. They always assumed she had really special bone marrow. "Is that it? It would make a lot of sense since I've never done it before." That was inconvenient. "Do you think I can train out of that?"

Tadashi could easily guess she was overworrying about it... well, he would have worried too, and to be fair, this was worrying him too... but he was sure they had ways to verify it and test it. He took her hand and squeezed it gently, trying to give her some strenght "I-It could be an explanation... t-that o-or you just overdid it... you should talk with Baymax a-and you trainer..." between some analysis and the voice of an expert they surely could find the answer, now couldn't they? "B-but don't worry, ok? I-I'm sure it w-will be ok" he said with a smile, trying to reassure her. He then frowned thoughtful ar her question "Mhm... I'm n-not sure... might be... b-but you should ask your trainer... s-some things you j-just can't learn... b-but you can maybe learn how to bypass it..."

Remi sighed, running a hand through her hair. Tests? She knew Tadashi was probably right too, he was always right when it came to things like this. What was she going to do now? What if they were out on a mission and she got hurt? Then she couldn't help anyone else until she was better! There had to be something she could do, right? "Thanks, Tadashi." She smiled at him as Baymax returned, wrapping her ankle tightly in tape. "You really didn't have to come like this, I told you that I was all right." She hated to get Tadashi riled up.

He smiled warmly to her, squeezing gently her hand before he bent forward and hugged her softly, only to move aside when Baymax came back to wrap her ankle. "Don't worry, Remi... it's going to be ok, there are many solutions we can find..." he tried to cheer her up, speaking the truth in the same time: it was true, she didn't need to be invincible to be terribly useful! As she mentioned how he didn't need to come all the way there, he blushed a bit, rubbing his neck with an apologetic smile "I... I-I didn't even read t-that part..." he admitted: he had ran off the lab as he had read she had hurt herself, not even bothering to read the rest of the text

Remi savored Tadashi's hug, even if it was short. She missed hugging Tadashi. Not that there was anything wrong with hugging Cloud, but she really enjoyed the familiarity of Tadashi. "Yeah," She murmured quietly before nodding. "I hope you're right." Remi smiled and started to laugh a little bit at him. Tadashi was such a drama queen, but she loved him for it. "Oh, you shouldn't worry so much. I'm okay, I'm not going to leave you or anything." She reassured him, "Maybe I should've put the sprained ankle part first." Remi did have to admit if it had been Tadashi she would've done the same thing, though.

Well... he was glad he managed to make her laugh a bit. He kept rubbing his neck for a short while longer, it wasn't like he couldn't guess that, if she could text him, she wasn't dying but... he would still worry for her. He was an overprotective friend, he couldn't help that... And he didn't mention that, but he was sure she knew as well that even if she had put that part first it wouldn't have changed much, he would have stil ran there like his life depended on that... "So... c-can I do anything? D-do you want something to drink?" He asked wanting to be helpful, but also knowing his time was running short, he had to go back to his lab shortly...

Remi moved her foot around. Baymax really knew what he was doing, but she supposed that was the whole point. He's definitely more efficient than any human. Remi looked up at Tadashi and gave him a broad smile. "I know you just get worried." She told him, lifting his hat and turning it backwards on his head so she could lean in and give him a kiss on the cheek. "Hmm? No, I'm fine. You can head back if you want." She told him, "I think I'll call it a day."

He chuckled a bit when she turned his hat around so she could kiss his cheek. As she said she was fine and he could go if you wanted, he nodded even if he would have preferred to stay "I left the lab quite in a hurry... I-I think I should head b-back..." he explained with an apologetic smile, before adding "T-text me if you need anything, I-I'll be here immediately" he said with a new smile, kissing her forehead before heading toward the door. Only after a few steps he frowned and stopped... there was something he had been meaning to ask Remi for quite some time now... he just never had the occasion... but was now the right moment? He wasn't sure...

Remi laughed, "Yeah, I could tell." She waved her hand, "It's fine, you should go finish working on your...nerd stuff." She didn't know what to call it. Remi raised her phone, "I will." It was likely she wouldn't. She was too independent to ask for help if she needed it, it was unlikely she'd ask him for something unless she was dying. "See you-" Remi stopped, "Is something the matter, Tadashi?" Was something bothering him? Was he finally going to talk to her?

Was something the matter? No... yes... yes and no... should he tell her? Should he ask? He wasn't sure if she would appreciate it but... in the end he turned around, a lightly concerned expression on his face "I-I... talked to Reno, t-the other day... I-I didn't get t-to talk to you... I-I wanted t-to ask you... h-how you a-are d-doing..."

Remi squinted at Tadashi as his concern showed on his face. What was he thinking about? Remi paled, her heart dropping to her stomach and a lump building in her throat. "O-Oh..." Remi grew quiet as she thought about that. She was fine aside from her slipups and the occasional reminder that she and Reno had a good relationship at one point. Thinking about him made her think about what he said and that was just a wave of emotions. "I'm...fine!" She smiled. "I'd like to be better about the whole situation but..." She sighed, he eyes fell from Tadashi. "He's a jerk anyway." Remi muttered.

He stayed quiet, letting her talk: he didn't really appreciate her comment but he didn't comment on that, it would have done no good anyway. He got closer once again: he didn't want to push her to talk if she didn't feel like doing so, in the meantime though... he wanted to help if she needed it... "Remi... you know I'm here, i-if you wanna talk..." he said with the usual honesty in his voice, letting her free to refuse. It was pointless to specify she was free to say no, she knew him enough to know that was always an option...

Remi smiled at Tadashi. He was always so considerate and caring of her. "I'd tell you more about it but..." Well for one she didn't want to repeat the things he said to her. "I don't know what to say." She confessed. "I've never felt so...guilty before. I didn't mean to make him feel like I'd abandoned him, because I didn't. I was always going to stand by him, I do that for everyone but he just lost it and I didn't know what to do. I wanted to tell him I'm sorry but he didn't want to hear anything I had to say." Remi ran a hand through her hair, blinking back tears. "I didn't mean to hurt him, I didn't. And I really started to like him, a lot." Remi paused, looking up at Tadashi. Tadashi probably didn't want to her go on about it, she could of course but he said he had to be somewhere. She shrugged apologetically. "He kept pushing me away so I thought..." Well after the last time they'd talked Remi had really believed that Reno didn't like her the way she liked him.

Tadashi listened to her in silence: he just didn't know what to say, after all he didn't know the details of what had happened between them, Reno didn't wanna tell and he wasn't gonna force Remi to share them if she didn't feel like it. The only thing he knew was that both Remi and Reno were nice people, they didn't deserve feeling this way... and it was a pity they were doing this to one another. And now another problem was... he didn't really know what to suggest Remi: even though he and Reno were friends now, he didn't know too much about the guy, therefore he didn't know if he would have snapped if Remi would have tried to talk to him... But maybe is better not saying anything: from past experiences, the best thing was just step aside and let things go as they had to, while being by his friends's side. He sat down by Remi's side on the bed: the lab could wait a bit more, his friend needed him. He took her hand and gently caressed it. "I'm sorry Remi..." he started, trying to figure out what to say "Remi... d-do you want to... t-talk to him a-again?" he asked then, not really sure about what to think: did she wish to solve the situation... or just to never see the guy again? He... kinda needed to know, but to figure out how to support her and how to act in the future...

Thinking about what had happened made her feel uneasy and sad, like she was going to throw up and cry at the same time. "I've never seen him like that." She went on. Was that the real Reno? Or was that Reno angry? Remi had a feeling she hadn't seen him at his worst. "I was just, just out with Cloud, and they know each other and Reno kept making Cloud seem like..." Like someone who wouldn't be faithful... "And Cloud invited him over and it all went wrong so fast." Remi gave Tadashi a weak smile. "It's not your fault, don't apologize." Remi squeezed Tadashi's hand. She looked up at Tadashi in surprise. Of course she didn't want to see him again! No one had ever said anything like that to her before. But...at the thought of being to see Reno again and talk to him both made her angry and frantic but anxious and relieved. "He doesn't..." She began. Why would she need to see him? What would she even say? "It's best for he and I to just...stay away from each other." She mumbled halfheartedly.

Now, if Tadashi was someone with a great ability to understand human emotions, how people thought and all that jazz, he would have probably made the wild guess Reno could have been jealous, and hurt, that he cared... but... Tadashi had quite some handicaps when it came to socialization and stuffs like that, that was all a huge giant mystery to him. Once again, he could do nothing but listen to Remi, and even for her, he could get only what she explicitly said, managing to get she was sad but all those subtext emotions were lost on him. Although... he had thought he had had a hint she actually wanted to see him again, maybe to explain herself... but apparently he was wrong, they just didn't want to see each others. He nodded before he moved a bit closer and hugged her tight "It's ok Remi."

Remi laid her head on Tadashi's shoulder and hugged him back. "Thanks Tadashi." She said to him, hesitating. Should she tell him? Maybe she shouldn't. What if he went and told Reno? Well it's not like Tadashi would just bring it up, and Reno probably wouldn't ask him about her, so she supposed it was safe. "I forgave him already." Remi muttered. "You know how awful I am at holding grudges. I mean, I'm sure he had a reason for it, and even if he meant it maybe he was just having a bad day, right? Reno's not normally like that and..." She trailed off. She always saw the good in people. "I still like him a lot, Tadashi...but I'm with Cloud. And I like Cloud a lot but if Reno had...liked me too then..."

Well, that was... a lot. On one side, he was glad Remi wasn't mad at Reno and that she believed he wasn't that bad after all: she had always been good at seeing the best part of people, always thinking that everyone had to have some good (and on that, actually, Tadashi didn't really agree...), so he was glad she made no exception for Reno. Now, though, the part about liking him, and Cloud... he just didn't know how to help her there! He had problems handling his only crush, big problems, he really didn't know what to suggest to Remi for the fact she now liked 2 people... She could only stay there for her and listen: he just didn't know what to say...

Remi ran a hand through her hair. "And I can't dance it off since my ankle is," Remi looked down at her foot, moving it around and sighing at the sight of the bandage. "I'm so used to dancing all of my feelings off. This just bites, huh?" She smiled at Tadashi. "Oh! The lab, right? You should go back since I'm not dying or anything. I'm done talking about Reno." And she really was, if she kept on she would probably start to cry or something along those lines. She gave Tadashi a hug and a smile, "Go on." She encouraged.

He didn't want to leave her, but she was right, he had to go. Beside, there wasn't much more he could do... "Don't worry Remi, things w-will be ok, mhm? A-and I'm sure that in a c-ccouple of days you'll be able t-to heal your ankle, j-just bear with the pain for now and t-talk with your trainer, ok?" He got up and once again kissed her on the forehead, before leaving toward the door "I-I'll pass by later, ok?" he said with a smile before waving and leaving, actually directing himself toward the lab this time
