Refreshing (Tag: Anyone)

Aqua moved her hair back out of her face as she skimmed across water's surface. It had been so long since she had gotten to swim on her own, without worrying about little children and other outside grievances. She even pulled out her favorite tankini, the light purple and blue outfit hugging her wet skin while at the same time protecting her more modest sensibilities. She eased back into the water once again, fully intent on relaxing after her most recent training session. Her body ached and the water just felt good.

Not to far away from the pool, someone was quickly running towards it, jumping high up in the air the moment he reached it while loudly yelling out: "Cannonball!" The splash that followed right as he hit the surface, was anything but small or unnoticed. "10 points for the Fredzilla!" Fred happily exclaimed the moment he shot out of the water, only to start coughing when he accidently swallowed some of the water. When finally catching his breathe, he first then noticed that he wasn't alone on the pool and smiled brightly over at the brunette. "Hi!" he waved. "Sorry I didn't see you until now, was kinda occupied in jumping... and not choking," he added as an after thought before beaming happily at her again.

Aqua gasped when she heard the shout for a cannonball and swiftly moved away from the center of the pool. Before she knew it someone jumped over her head and went spluttering into the water. She blinked almost owlishly since she wasn't sure what to make of the other teen as he coughed. "Oh, um, well not choking is very important." she agreed.

Fred shukled a bit sheepishly to himself when he realised that he might've disturbed her or something, offerin her an aplogetic look. "Yeah, sorry again. Hope I didn't scare you or anything...?" he asked, brushing away the wet hair covering his eyes. "I'm Fred by the way!" he introduced himslef cheerfully. "I hadn't meant to go for a swim, seeing as I barey even unpacked all of my stuff yet, but the pool called for me, and who am I to deny it, right?... Oh right, what's your name?"

Aqua couldn't help but smile. He was a little strange but polite nevertheless. It seemed this new facility had very many easily excitable people in its midst. "My name is Aqua." she said. "You don't have to apologize for scaring me though. It's not like you knew anyone was in here."

Fred's own smile widen a bit when saw the girl smile herself, feeling a small relief wash over him when he didn't turn out to be annoying her or something. At least not yet. Well, she seemed liked a nice and pleasent person non the less. "Aqua? That's a really pretty name," he said honestly, repeating the name again to himself as if testing it. "So then! Now that we broken the ice with my graceful entrance, what do you think of this place so far?"

"Are... We talking about the pool or the facility?" Aqua asked. "Because both are very nice." She came from nothing, an orphan that was never adopted and never got to have such luxuries as a pool, an arcade or a cafeteria. She worked for everything she had. She didn't want to know what sort of money was spent on that the pool alone.

Fred blinked, looking a bit confused at first but was quickly back to smiling wide and all happily again. "Oh, yeah was tlaking about the facility in general, but this pool is very nice too," he beamed, looking around them quicklyas he took the sceneary in. Kinda looked the he ahd back at home. But this had much more better feeling to it. "Have you checked out the arcade yet? Or supermarket? They even have a Zoo!" Fred said a little excitedly. "It's like our own little private city."

Aqua blushed since she had misheard him but she took a deep breath and moved past her own embarrassment. "That's a bit much..." she murmured. "I haven't been out to see all of that." She had just finished unpacking and she was trying to get to know her roommate as best she could. As a child she would have loved to have gone to all of those places. She couldn't help but think of all the people who were going without those things because it was far too expensive. "I take it you've seen them already?"

Fred shaked his head, the smile still present on his face as he swam towards the edge of the pool. "Nope, I have barely even started to unpack actually," he snickerd. "Aside from the pool here, i've only had time to check out the Arcade, walk pass the cinema," he thought out loud before grinning back at her. "You are planning to explore the place right? Just thinking it's best to do it now before the training and all starts." At the mention of training, Fred's enthusiasm seemed to falter a bit, but otherwise his good mood was still fully intact.

"It hasn't crossed my mind yet." Aqua said. It might be in her best interest to get away from the dorms and the many personal effects of the people within the dorms. She didn't need to find out things by the random person objects lying around that she could accidentally touch. "I just finished unpacking and I had dinner with my roommate last night."

"Really? That souds nice," Fred smiled genuiely, not for the first time wonderign where his own roommate might be. Strangely enough, he hadn't run into the guy yet, whoever he might be. No matter, he'll for sure meet up with the guy soon enough. "What Division are you in by the way?" he asked curiously. Not that people with powers was really anything new or strange to him, but he still it was cool. Like living in a comic book or movie.

Aqua shifted after he asked her division. She could hear the water moving around her. "I'm in the Psychic and esper group. PEP." she answered. She really hoped he didn't ask what it was she could do. She hated explaining that she could pretty much spy on people by touching their personal effects. She could learn good things, but mostly bad, things they didn't like sharing with anyone. "And you?"

Fred's eye sparlked with interesst at this. "Ooooh that sounds cool," he grinned, wondering what kind of powers she might have. He quickly forgot about his own question however when Aqua asked him about his own Division. "Me? Oh I'm in... uh... what was it again..." he trailed off in thought, not looking that botherd that he might've fogrotten it. "Misc...Milkshakes..? Something like that... oh yeah right! MPT, Miscellaneous powers and talent!" he exalcimed, happy that he managed to remember it.

Aqua laughed, though it was very soft. She didn't know how he could have gotten milkshakes out of miscellaneous. She had laughed outright more with this unusual individual than she had in quite some time. "Yeah? Have you met anyone else in your field?" she asked. "Apparently my roommate is in my group as well."

Fred's expression turned thoughtful, looking a little bit lost for a moment. "Uuuh... I've actually no idea," he said honestly, but was still grinning brightly nontheless. "I still need to study up these fields and divisions and all... I kinda keep forgeting that we're all grouped into those."

"At least you're optimistic about it." Aqua mused. Most of the students she had come across at the school so far had been optimistic. It was more than she could say for herself. She tended to think more rationally, weighing her options and then coming to a conclusion either positive or negative.

"Well, yeah, I sort of have to be," Fred chuckled, though a little less entusiastic this time. Comming to here hadnät been his idea to start with it... But he'll for sure enjoy it here nontheless. ..right?

"Did I say something wrong?" Aqua asked when she noticed the shift in his mood, which was obvious, despite how subtle it was. She had been around kids who tried to hide their emotions since she was a little girl. She had come to the school because she had some hope this would mean she was worth something.

"Hm? Oh no, of course not, why do you ask that?" he chuckled, honestly not understanding why she did. When it came to himself, Fred barely even realized when his own mood would drop, especially since he was usually so fast to recover and forget that he was upset to begin with.

Aqua shook her head. Obviously he didn't want to talk about it so she wouldn't force his hand. "Never mind. It's nothing." she assured him and then she added, "But maybe we should get out of the water before we become prunes."

He titled his head a bit as the blunette just dissmied the topic, wondering himself if he might've said the wrong thing. "Oh sure," he agreed at her next statement, still all smiles and happy-go-lucky as he sawm back towards the edge and dragged himself up and out fo the water. "Oh between, if you don't mind me asking, what powers do you have?" he asked curiously.

Aqua paused when she reached the step ladder. She might as well as had expected this. "Psychoscopy." Aqua said. "I can see things about people based on their personal effects." She pulled herself out of the water and avoided his eyes. She was used to the scrutiny she faced after she told people what she could do, or so she told herself.

Fred didn't miss the pause she made right after he asked, and held himself back from frowning a bit at this. Apparently, he asked the wrong question. But that guilty feeling quickly repalced itself with wonder and intruigment. "That..." he began, his eyes almost shinning at this point. "Is awesome. You'd make one ass-kicking detective!"

"What?" Aqua asked, completely taken back by the burst of encouragement. The last reactions to her powers she had seen in the school was mute horror to blinding and fiery rage. "You... You don't think that's weird? At all?"
