Browsing the Books (Tag: Anyone)

"Let him laugh!" Nyx retorted with a daring grin. She raised her head and comically tried to imitate a heroic laugh. She turned her head to hear the sound of a 'shh' coming from another person in the library. Nyx bit her lip to stop from laughing loudly, and smiled to Xion as she whispered. "I'd laugh right back. I know what I know."

Xion smiled, secretly pleased that Nyx believed she was better than her brother. Zack believed it. But Xion felt that her smarts weren't everything there was to life. "And what do you know?" Xion asked, wondering what she could have done to have already set herself apart from Zack.

"I can see it in you." Nyx replied. "And besides, Xion is already a much more interesting name than Zack already." She joked--referring to their earlier conversation--but it was still true. "Don't underestimate yourself, Xion." She said as she took a step back and nodded to her, getting ready to go check out her books.

"Um... Right?" she said uncertainly. People at this school were strange. Already they were comparing her to fictional characters like Q and telling her that her name was mysterious and special. They encouraged her to believe in herself and her abilities without truly knowing her for who she was.
