PostSubject: Hiccup Haddock   Hiccup Haddock EmptySun May 03, 2015 5:48 pm

Name:
Hiccup Haddock

Face:
Hiccup (How To Train Your Dragon 2)

Age:
19

Family members:
Mother, Father

Division:
BCM (Biological control and manipulation)

Superpower:
Animal speech

Description of superpower:
Hiccup can talk to animals and can understand them: on that he has shown no problems. Except with fishes, he still has big troubles understanding fishes. Many people with his own power are able to exercise a great deal of charisma over animals: even if it's not the same as control animals gives them the ability to boss them around. Well, Hiccup has never been able to do so, actually it often goes the other way around with him being bossed by some cat for instance. He does hope to be able, eventually, to develop the necessary charisma to be respected by his furry friends.  A flaw of his power, though, is that he has never been able to talk to fishes, nor to anphibians. He slightly understands what cetaceans say if he really focuses, but he has problems there too. Still, there's room for improvement.

Personality:
Hiccup is a very witty, sarcastic boy. He appears very well-spoken but a bit shy at times. He is quite smart and quite the bookworm: he loves learning, especially about animals, and he has read countless books about a various range of animals. He's physically quite weak, and he still hasn't developed yet his full potential with his talent: in fact, even if he should be able to exert some control over animals, so far he has always only been able to speak to them and understand them.

Story:
Hiccup was an only child. His parents divorced when he was just three and he split his time equally between the two of them. To compensate what he was going through with the divorce, his mother bought him a dog: that's how Hiccup discovered he could talk with animals. His parents, though... well, they didn't take it as a superpower as much as a mental disorder. His mother actually thought he simply had a powerful imagination, his father thought he was reacting to the divorce with a breakdown. They both decided not to encourage him and to give him some time and gently explain that animals don't talk but after two whole years this technique had brought them nowhere and Hiccup was still convinced he could talk to animals. To his mother that wasn't a big deal, his father though feared that there could be something wrong in the boy's brain: he made him visit many doctors and psychologists ad in the end, after 3 years of therapy, Hiccup decided to admit he couldn't talk to animals. Or at leas, that's what he decided to say, since nobody seemed to believe him anyway, because he was never able to prove his word. Growing up, Hiccup kept his ability hidden, but what he couldn't hide was his obvious feeling with animals. When he was 11 his mother got married again and started a new family, Hiccup was always welcome to her but her new husband was allergic to dogs so he had to keep his pets at his father's house, reason that made him decide to spend more and more time at his father's. In the end, when he was 15, his mother had to change city and agreed to let him live with his father. One year later his father had an accident falling from the stairs: in that situation Hiccup had to ask his dog's help and for the first time his father was able to see that his son hadn't imagined his power! His father was quite shocked and they had to talk a lot, but in the end Hiccup obtained his apologises and his acceptance. Hiccup still decided, though, to keep it as a secret toward his mother. After Hiccup finished the high school he had to decide what to do with his future: he wasn't really sure but, to take some time to decide and gain some experience meanwhile, he started working in a pet shop. It was from one of the animals there that he heard about the new training center for gifted people. He had always known he had a special talent and now it was his time to prove it! He decided to take their test and, much to his surprise, he actually passed it.

Extra:
- Hiccup is bisexual: he has had both boyfriends and girlfriends in the past, but never a relationship that lasted more than a couple of months
- Hiccup has more female friends than males, he just gets along with girls more than with boys
- Hiccup is quite the bookworm: he loves reading, he's quite fast at reading, he likes reading about everything and it's rare to see him without a book in his hands.
